A pressurized regulator is more responsive than a temperature-based regulator. However, it requires an ASME code receiver which is more expensive to manufacture. Pressurized deaerators are rated .005 cubic centimeters of dissolved oxygen per liter of feed water. Atmospheric deaerators do not require ASME code receivers and are less expensive. They also produce less steam loss through the vent. They have no overflow drainer nor safety relief valve. No fixed orfice for vent is required. Atmospheric deaerators can be rated either .03 or .005 cubic centimeters of dissolved oxygen per liter of feed water. |
