About the Shipco® website

Original Shipco® website circa 1999-2004

Shipco® launched its website, www.shipcopumps.com, in 1999. The first design was constructed by a local Chambersburg service known as Websites Web Design (WSWD). Eventually, the website was later relocated and maintained internally by company I.T. manager Matt Reath, though virtually unchanged. The original website was small but served its purpose providing a representative locator, product descriptions, and small amounts of downloadable literature. The original intent was simply to get Shipco® online and to establish its name on the internet.

After much discussion to take the website a giant step further, redesign work began in late 2003. Goals were set and exclusive content was planned. The undertaking became a joint effort between the employees of Shipco® and Shippensburg's Beidel Printing House, Inc. (literature publisher) to make the new website:

  • Easier
  • More friendly
  • Attractive
  • Usefully informative
  • Feature-enhanced
  • Better prepared for industry growth
  • Handle the exponential increase and reliance on internet material

The result is what you see today. Shipco® still takes Pride, Quality, and Craftsmanship in its employees abilities to perform. Our hope is that you appreciate the combined effort from hundreds of work hours and make useful what we offer here today.

Acknowledgments

There are highly noteworthy contributors to this second revision of Shipco®'s website who are responsible for the tremendous effort. They are:

  • Fred Collier
  • Dale Myers

As far as the website goes, Fred Collier and Dale Myers were largely the instructors and head coordinators. Both provided all the necessary information, history, product material, calculations & conversions, charts, diagrams, representative section plans, just about everything in the written word. This website couldn't be possible without their knowledge and industry experience. To them a large debt of gratitude is due.

  • Vicki Stouffer
  • Angela Guyer
  • Jim Brookens

One of the largest undertakings included the product literature. Not only documenting and filing, but typesetting, formatting, and publishing it; all the Shipco® literature was (and still is) a massive task. Maintaining all the bulletins, dimension prints, wiring & piping diagrams, pump curves, IOMs and others are largely accredited to the huge effort put forth by Vicki Stouffer, Angela Guyer, and Jim Brookens. A tremendous "Thank You" is well deserved.

  • Matt Reath

Matt Reath is responsible for the original development of Shipco® Navigator™. A large precentage of the hidden logic and setup to make Navigator™ "navigate" was developed by him.

  • Jim Robinson

The overall website design, programming, and construction were completed by Jim Robinson. He worked on the majority of webpage formatting including literature subsystem, glossary, database construction, representative content management, rep locator, MathWizard™, exclusive creation of Shipco® VirtualPump™ and much more. Jim continues to maintain and evolve this website as well as numerous other projects still today.

A Final Word

Largely, credit is due to ALL the small-town, hard working men and women of the Shippensburg Pump Company and its associates. For without them and their dedication to produce and sell the industry's best products, Shipco® would cease to exist.

We thank you for taking the time to browse our website.
