About the Glossary

Shipco®'s glossary is intended to be a helpful supplement for the rest of the website. It is also meant to be an attractive resource. To anyone wishing to increase their knowledge of steam industry science, engineering, or mechanics, we hope it may enstill a wealth of understanding or simply aid to refresh one's memory. Either way, if you feel there is something missing from our glossary, please don't hesitate to let us know!

How to Use the Glossary

Select or search! Select a term from the list on the left and click the "OK" button. Its defintion will be displayed for you. To navigate faster, click a letter to jump to the first term in the list beginning with that letter.

You can also search for a term or related terms by entering a phrase in the search box (also to the left). If your search is found to be contained within our list of terms, those terms will be displayed for you.
