Shipco® was proud to be featured recently on Pennsylvania State Senator Pat Vance's monthly program. The press release is as follows:
HARRISBURG – The January edition of the Vance Report will spotlight Shippensburg Pump Company, said host Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York).
The company has its roots in the community for more than 100 years. In 1983 when the pump business was moved out of state by ITT, most employees did not want to leave Shippensburg. Three men, including current CEO Duaine Collier, formed Shippensburg Pump Company to make a similar line of condensate, boiler feed, deaerator and vacuum pumps with improvements.
"These men had good foresight to take an available trained workforce and form a new company to create needed parts for steam recovery operations of boiler steam systems," Vance said. "Each project is manufactured specifically for the customer and can take up to 18 to 20 weeks for large pump packages. I don't think many people give much thought to the expertise required for these systems."
Vance's show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 8. Comcast Cable subscribers can view the program on Local Video on Demand (Get Local). Finally, York Community Access airs the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16.
Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
